18 miles to Hapifish!

My friday night happy hour was in the form of running 18 miles!  It’s all uphill from here until June 5th when I’ll be running San Diego Rock n Roll Marathon!! aahhh

This weekend I am spending both Saturday and Sunday doing Luna Chix stuff! We will be out at Alpine Challenge today & tomorrow we have a beginners women’s bike ride out of Mission Bay.  All are welcome, come ride with me!

This means my long run had to be done at another time.  The options were Friday evening or Saturday morning real early.  I opted for Friday night!

Missi came over and we ran from my house up the coast and back.  I love running with Missi!  I run faster with her than when I run alone.  The run turned out great I’d say.  At around the turnaround point (9 miles or so) my legs were feeling pretty jelly like and then from mile 14.5ish to the end I wanted it to be over.  The last 3 miles were never-ending.  But I did it!

Just two more long runs until taper time.. aahhh.. I can’t imagine running 8 more miles.

HapiFish

After quick showers we grabbed Todd and headed out to Hapifish for some sushi!  We weren’t real hungry but we knew we needed to eat something.

Hapifish is new to the area and I love sushi so we’ve meant to try it out.  Last night was the night!

Alcohol did not sound good initially but once my body settled down, I was ready for a saké bomb! =)

And then our appetites came back and we ordered a few Hapi Plates to share.

The Poketini

Hamachi Hapi-ness

Both were delicious!

We also split a couple rolls.

The Last Samurai had this amazing sauce you pour over it with onions that tasted almost like au jus sauce.  It was awesome!

The last roll we got was called the Cut Back Roll (I think).  It had soft shell crab on the inside & white & red tuna on top.  I felt like salmon so I subbed out some tuna on top for salmon.  It was also delicious.

Photographing in this restaurant was not good! I don’t know if it  was the lighting or if I just couldn’t use my camera that night… but they were all pretty bad! Sorry!

For our first Hapifish experience we were very happy with it!  We will be back.. and next time we will sit at one of their 3 sushi bars! Yes three!

Now it’s time for some Luna love! Have a great Saturday!

  1. I drove by Hapifish the other day and was wondering about it! I’ll definitely have to check it out!
