Weekend Recap

What a weekend I’ve had.. busy busy but fun!

Friday night Missi & I went to Masuo’s in Solana Beach.  Neither of us had been so we thought we’d try it out.

Edamame, beer & sake to start

Deep fried stuffed jalapenos

Two rolls

E.F. I think was the name of this roll.  It had no rice and only fish.  I think it could’ve used crab or avocado or something as it was tiny!

Soft shell crab roll with fish & avocado on top

We had no complaints about Masuo’s except that it was a little pricey.  It was good but not exceptional that I would want to pay those prices often.

After sushi we walked down to a frozen yogurt shop.

It looked like a candy store!

They give you the chance to guess the weight of your yogurt before paying.  If you guess it right, you get your yogurt for free. Missi was 1 oz off!! So close yet so far..

I got a combination with vanilla, chocolate & red velvet topped with all sorts of candies.  I never used to be a frozen yogurt topping fan.. but recently I’m all about them!

Saturday my Ragnar team planned on doing a multi-run day to get ready for our big race.  We started with VAVI & ran 11 miles.

Not a bad start!  We then headed out to Cass Street Bar & Grill where we had breakfast..

and Mimosas!

Three pitchers of mimosas..

After breakfast we went to a teammates house & prepped for run #2.  Our goal was to run 5 miles to the next bar.

Run Number Two ~ 12:15pm

I thought this was going to be nice & easy but somebody decided to pick up the pace!  Not my decision but I pulled up the rear.. it was almost 5 miles.  I could feel the mimosas sloshing around in my stomach the whole time, not the best feeling!  We decided on PB Ale House for round #2.  We ordered mostly drinks and a few snacks as well.

We must’ve been having fun because our waitress Allison now wants to run with us!

Run Number Three ~ 3:15pm

Run #3 was brutal!  We ran from PB Ale House to Leonard’s House which was a very short run.  It seemed uphill the whole way & I felt like I was going fast.. but we were definitely not.  I’d say we are ready for Ragnar!  There will be no alcohol involved in that race so we will be good to go!

Celebratory shots at Leonard’s while relaxing.. snacking on some a lot of chips.. & watching the Arizona game.  They were so close!

Before we knew it, it was late!  Missi & I headed to Station Sushi before I needed to go home to meet up with my brother before he left to go back to school.

Sake & tequila shots.  The tequila was chased with orange slices dusted with lots of cinnamon.  It was soo good!

We ordered a monkey stick roll as well as a couple salads.

I didn’t stay long as I wanted to get home.  What a great day & bonding experience with my Ragnar team.  We will be a force to reckon with!  So excited =)

Todd came home in the middle of all these events this weekend!! He survived and & he’s got some good photos to share. Today I was finally able to hang out with him!  I worked for a couple hours this morning & then came home to wake him up. Guess what he wanted to eat for lunch today.. yes sushi!

We tried out Sushi House in Encinitas.

Albacore Special roll

Salmon skin roll as well as some salmon, yellowtail & salmon roe sushi.  We were pretty happy with our lunch.  No complaints once again.

I think I ate out my share this weekend.. sushi for dinner anyone?  just kidding.. I think..

I’m off to enjoy the rest of this evening!
